One Community is a local registered non-governmental organization operating in Malawi, delivering programs, policies and standards that uphold children, youth, and men’s human rights and ensure that every child, youth, and men lives up to their full potential.
We work in more than 190 communities to protect children, youth, men, and
communities, from all forms of violence, exploitation and abuse. We partner with
governments, businesses, civil society organizations and communities to prevent all forms of violence against children, youth and to support survivors. Our diverse efforts
strengthen policies, institutions, and local structures to help children, youths, men,
women, and community, access vital social services.
One Community focuses on interventions that are locally owned, and aligned with national and international development priorities, and based on rigorous evidence of what works in different contexts.
We are an impact-driven institution seeking to improve quality and quantity of productive participation for young people. We enable real progress by promoting human rights, fostering gender equality focusing on children, youth, men, and strengthening public-private cooperation and coherence. Our approach is coordinated and comprehensive, and we actively engage young people to better understand their diverse needs and environment. We support innovative and evidence-based action and promote investments that create both immediate benefits and sustainable positive impact for young people in Malawi.
Our work is clustered around four thematic priorities that present immediate and long-term opportunities to tackle the local challenges.
